Rep Program

The North Toronto Basketball Assocation operates a "Rep" (or all-star) team in almost every age category. Over the years, North Toronto Huskies teams have been recognized as well-disciplined and competitive at the Provincial Championship level. Rep team tryouts are announced at the beginning of the house league season by the respective Rep coach in each division. In general, Rep tryouts begin the first week of house league. Please contact the listed coaches and/or check the website.

Rep basketball is a significant time commitment for players and their families. Each week during the season, there could be 1-2 practices + 1 league game. In addition, this team will participate in at least 5 weekend tournaments [i.e. 3-5 games], during the season. Many of these tournaments are out of town. Depending on the age group, the season ends in late April to late May. For the 2011/2012 Rep season, players chosen to join the teams will be required to pay $600 to cover various Rep basketball costs ($400 if the athlete is registered and participating in the North Toronto House League). In addition, families will be responsible for their out-of-town travel costs.

NOTE: If the the athlete is born between 1998 and 2003 they must be registered and accepted into the 2011/2012 North Toronto House League to be eligible to tryout for the rep teams. New for the 2011/2012 season, athletes born 1997 and prior, are not required (but encouraged to) participate in the North Toronto House League to tryout for their respective rep teams.

NOTE: The waiver > Waiver and Release for 2011 tryouts < MUST be signed by all players (and parents for players under 18) trying out for rep teams, even if they have registered for houseleague (and thereby agreed to the online waiver).
